The purpose of this qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring managers who will supervise or manage a team to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role

What are the entry requirements to access the course?

There are no formal entry requirements to access this course; however, you will need access to a PC/Laptop/Mac and internet access. You will also be required to be motivated and able to set aside time to complete your work

Do I have to sit exams?

As this is a vocational qualification there are no final exams for you to sit. You will be continually assessed using a variety of tasks intended to show and use the skillset that you have.

How is this course delivered?

This course is delivered remotely utilising our materials and the use of zoom / teams / Skype, etc.  All written work will be submitted and assesed via our portfolio system.

What is the duration of the course?

The duration of the course is approximately 111 hours TQT.  This includes tutoring and individual learning; however, as we take into account your previous work and academic history this could be less.

What will I learn from the course?

Anyone achieving this award will be prepared for undertaking Level 4 and 5 qualifications within management

Course Format

This qualification comprises of six mandatory units.

Mandatory Units:

3 Credit unit at Level 3

  • Understand ‘values’ and their influence on behaviour

  • Understand the principles of motivation models

  • Understand how to prioritise own work and work of others

  • Understand how to prioritise own work and work of others

2 Credit unit at Level 2

  • Understand coaching as a management tool

  • Understand how to set-up and review achievable goals with a coach

4 Credit unit at Level 3

  • Understand the importance of communicating effectively
  • Understand the skills required to support effective communication and influencing others
  • Understand thinking styles
  • Understand the importance of effective questioning and listening skills to the communication process
  • Understand why constructive feedback is important as a management tool
  • Understand how to adapt communication styles to present yourself and your views in different ways

2 Credit unit at Level 3

  • Understand assertive behaviour

3 Credit unit at Level 3

  • Understand the principles and benefits of delegation
  • Understand the how the principles of Transactional Analysis can support communication and relationships
  • Understand conflict and the use of conflict models
  • Understand the principles of effective negotiation

2 Credit unit at Level 2

  • Understand the components of a presentation
